A great website is made up of two equal parts; 1. The look and design of the site, and 2. The functionality and structure of the site. You cannot have a great looking site that is difficult to navigate or understand, just as you cannot have a well-structured site that is not appealing to the eye. A great site is memorable for its external beauty, as well as its internal functionality.

In terms of graphic design, we believe that every website must be, at the very least, aesthetically pleasing. We like to go beyond that and bring to our projects an obvious sense of style and artistry. In contrast to many web developers, we put a great deal of emphasis on the physical look of our projects. We know the importance of first impressions, and utilize creative imagery, classic styles, and modern trends to produce memorable and captivating websites.

In addition to its external beauty, a website must also be internally sound. A great looking website is useless if its content is poorly organized, or does not convey the right message to its viewers. A website should not be a maze of useless and redundant artifacts, but should flow from start to finish, providing the user with unobstructed access to all the website has to offer. At CDS, we strive to keep our projects clean and user-intuitive, while emphasizing the key features related to each client.

Our web and graphic concept designs come from the creative mind of our lead artist, Jessica J. Miller. Jessica's background in graphic design and web development culminated in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area, where she gained hands on experience working and living in one of the worlds foremost technological centers.

Although born and raised on the Central Coast of California, Jessica began her web development career in the Bay Area. While still attending San Jose State University, Jessica started her career early at Philips Semiconductor, an R&D branch of Philips Electronics. Here, Jessica became an interface expert, creating GUI's for interactive television, internal middleware, software apps, and corporate websites. It was here that Jessica started down the path of web development.

Working for some of the largest electronics and software companies has given Jessica an innovative style, and a skill level attainable only from direct experience in the most technologically advanced environments.

Although Jessica is versed in several programming, markup and scripting languages, her true enjoyment has always been found in graphic art and concept design. It was the desire to move further into graphic art that prompted Jessica to branch off on her own, and start Corvus Design Studio.

With nearly ten years of experience in web development, combined with innovative graphic and interface know-how, Jessica brings to our projects an unequivocal sense of style, technological savvy, and user functionality. And it shows in every one of our projects.
